Check out the quirky cheap make up line from Topshop:

As previously mention here at Cheap Make Up news, Topshop are set to launch a range of cheap cosmetics (and why not, as they seem to sell everything else for a girl to be in her element!) Today it has been announced that the packaging for the cheap make up products will be in quirky, striking packaging.

The cosmetic range, that starts with the Summer 2010 collection uses spots, stripes and smudges on the matte pale grey plastic boxes. Each item has its own case but it is then packed in secondary packaging of a black carton which shows a roughly drawn illustration of whatever product is inside.

As with everything else at Topshop, this is a classy affordable line of cheap make up that just keeps Topshop at the top of its game especially at a time when they have so many other retailers offering cheap make up and great clothes.

Cheap Make Up it isn’t, but it will speed up your morning routine!

This post isn’t so much about cheap make up as is it buying cosmetics that make your life easier and I can certainly say after seeing this, that this one is for ease! This is the Airbase Airbrush make up that literally sprays foundation onto your face!

Airbase is a silicone based foundation applied with an airbrush (like the ones you use to spray your car!) that is used on film and TV sets to keep the stars looking fresh all day. Ordered from the Internet, Airbase has two foundation shades, a blusher and a bronzer, a cleaning mitt and cleaner and then you have to assemble the compression gun which sprays your face.

Get quick application that gives you a great colour:

Once you have applied a primer, to even put and fill fine lines, you just point the spray at your face and spray on the colour in circular motions. The final result is a foundation that is an even colour that doesn’t get stuck in all the creases of your face like spray tan can, and a colour that is easy and quick to apply. Now at £195, if we can just get it for half that in the sales maybe one day, then it can come under our Cheap Make up bracket!

When did Cheap Make Up and clothes become part of a young girls wardrobe?

Not so much cheap make up but image as a whole, the recent outcry from the public about Primark selling padded bikinis may seem shocking due to the message behind padded underwear, but is it such as shock when young girls are growing up so fast these days? A recent study according to The Mirror showed that 75% of mothers let their daughter who was under 10 wear nail varnish whilst a third dressed them in bikinis and 7% let them wear high heels.

Does the media help with images of famous girls in cheap make up and revealing clothes?

But maybe the problem today is that because you can get cheap make up and clothes cheap at places like Primark, there is only the reason that these luxuries are too expensive that used to mean that young girls couldn’t have them. But the reason that little girls shouldn’t want to grow up to fast doesn’t really cut the mustard with young girls who see Hannah Montana and buddies parading around in makeup and revealing tops. So who can blame girls for wanting to be like their idols. Yes, the girls probably would grow up at a slower pace if they didn’t see these bands and idols on the TV and in the media, so that they wanted to be like them, but we are never going to stop the ever increasing media pressure on girls to look thin and made up so is it a losing battle?

Also by stopping young girls wearing cheap make up and clothes is only going to add to the appeal. So is the best bet is to accept that in this ever changing world, that young girls want to be in to the glamour of cheap make up and clothes from an early age and just let them grow up how they want to and to still teach them about childhood so they can choose it if they wish!

Cheap Make Up gets even bigger by Avon buying Liz Earle.

It was a good week for cheap make up as it was announced that cosmetic makeup giant Avon, had bought Liz Earle Beauty for an undisclosed sum. Liz Earle was founded in 1995 and launched their natural botanical ingredients products a year later on QVC.

The plan by cheap make up company Avon is to supplement organic growth with select purchases of niche product lines. They also thought that Liz Earle was a great company for Avon’s statement on naturally active skincare products and anti ageing cosmetics.

Teaming up with another huge compnay enables Avon to continue their great Cheap Make Up products!

Avon has a strong presence in two areas, one being cheap make up which is great quality and very varied and the other is an opportunity for people to be their own boss and earn more money through selling Avon products, hence the calling of the ‘Avon Lady’. The company has also stepped up recruitment to take advantage of a growing pool of highly motivated workers laid off from other jobs in the recession. Television advertisements use slogans such as: “I am my own boss. I can’t get fired.”

They have transformed themselves in the last five years by improving its ranges, selling modern good products at affordable value making it a key company for cheap make up and also making their packing for attractive. They also used big Hollywood names such as Reese Witherspoon to endorse the company.

Cheap make up for kids is fine…apparently!

Well, for a follow up to a news peice we posted yesterday, about Jordan releasing a cheap make up range for children, we can today confirm her thoughts on it! Appearing on This Morning TV, the glamour model defended her decision to bring out a make up range aimed at kids as young as two saying that “make up for kids is perfectly fine”

As we mentioned Katie Price considered her cheap make up range for kids after she posted a picture of her own young daughter caked in make up on social networking site, Facebook. She received a lot of criticism from the public, including her ex husband Peter Andre who branded it vile.

She says little girls like to play with cheap make up:

But, the ever blasé Katie, who ironically said that her relationship with new man Alex was private despite then telling the world that they were trying for a baby but she was on her period that day, said that little girls have always enjoyed playing about with a bit of lippy and mascara. This one remains to be seen, but I think the issue of a cheap make up range for kids is going to run and run!

Will the glamour girl get her wish of a cheap make up range for kids?

It has to be said where Katie Price is concerned, you don’t know whether you should punch her or praise her! Punch her over her plans to bring out a cheap make up range for children, or praise her for her marketing skills about allegedly planning to bring out a cheap make up range after the controversial picture of her two year old daughter, caked in cosmetic makeup was put on Facebook.

Will her daughter be the cheap make up range cover girl?

The thing about Katie Price aka Jordan is that you are never sure if she is serious or not. She was filmed on her reality show for ITV2 saying that she could market her cheap make up range by using her daughter as the cover girl and naming it after her, and then devise edible lipstick, blushers and mascaras to name a few to launch the cheap make up range.

Most people would probably been have embarrassed to have the world see her daughter in heavily make up, but Katie and her managers see it as a PR exercise as they know it’s so controversial that people would take interest.

Time will tell if Katie is being serious, but one thing is for sure, that if she does decide to launch the cheap make up range for children, she will have a battle on her hands with the father Peter Andre already stating how disgusted he was at the pictures of his little girl in make up. So much so, that she may have to rethink her cover girl!

That’s right, you can get cheap make up in lipstick and show the world your feelings!

I think the cheap make up world have finally come out with a product that would sit well in Willy Wonka’s factory (if he made cosmetics obviously!) as it was announced today that the newest lipstick on the market is a lipstick that changes colour dependant on your mood!

Seriously, I kid you not! The Mood Swing Emotionally Activated Lip Gloss is part of the cheap make up range at £12 and it is designed to show your lover that you are ready to hit the sack! It is meant for women that are too shy to make the first move with their partners, so instead of the old fashion chat up lines, you can now have your lips flashing colourful signs that you are ready to move forward in your relationship!

But what happenes if the wrong person see’s your feelings??

However the thing that worries me is that what happens if you get one that doesn’t work and your pervy boss thinks that you are up for a bit with him in the photocopy cupboard, when really the lipstick would be showing black if it could show negative signs! Or worse still, it could work perfectly well, but show the man or woman of your dreams how you really feel, despite the fact that they are going out with your best friend! Although it sounds great, and as a fan of cheap make up I am up for anything that saves you money, I think I will be brushing up my confidence skills rather than telling the world what mood I am in!

Not only can you get cheap fashion, but you can now get cheap make up from Topshop!

Topshop are hot on the heels of the summer lines ups for festivals being announced, by launching a line of cheap make up for festival goers. It is an ingenious idea from the company that brings you the Kate Moss range and constantly have an eye for up to date fashion. Topshop tried to enter the cosmetics market in the 90’s but failed to do so and now their range is in line affordable cutting edge fashion.

The popular high street shop has included cheap make up in its affordable approach to cosmetics!

The cheap make up range, which will consist of basic make up products such as eye shadows, eye liners and lipsticks, will roll out up to six limited edition seasonal ranges to tie in with the latest collections and trends with the first edition suitable for wearing at festivals. Topshop said that they wanted to offer fun adventurous products that you would usually have to search for high and low to wear at festivals.

Mens Skin Care on the up!

I think us women have know it for a while, but according to a new survey by L’Oreal, men are turning to mens skin care in order to look their best (I swear my husband takes longer in the bathroom than I do!). Two reasons that men are turning to skin care for men is that they want to look good for job interviews and also want to reduce the signs of aging. Who said that men are from Mars and women from Venus!

Apparently, one in five men use hair dye to cover up sign of grey and two thirds of men now use mens skin care products daily. An even bigger surprise is that 82 percent of men said that there are no products for mens cosmetics that they would be too embarrassed to buy!

With Mens Skin Care men can look (nearly!) as good as the women!

Although this survey shows that men are more open about mens skin care products than ever before, there is no reason why men shouldn’t have access to all the skin care products and cosmetics that women do as as we move on more from the rugged smelly man, we are now seeing our men (and encouraging them fully!) want to look after themselves. I think David Beckham has a lot to answer for because until he stepped out with painted nails and admitted he often uses mens skin care products, I think some men shied away from it for fear of being called derogatory names.

The only thing I ask is that my man doesn’t steal items from my make up bag, otherwise there will be trouble!

Never apply your eye make up whilst you are on the move as you could cause your eyes serious damage such as sticking the eye liner pencil in your eye, scratching it with your mascara wand or poking yourself with the applicator, all which can lead to infections of the eyes.

Don’t share your cosmetic makeup with anyone, regardless of how well you know them or if they are family! This is because you may be sharing untreated or unknown bacteria with the other person or they may be giving you their infections, which don’t look nice with your sultry eye make up!

Be aware of the expiry dates of eye make up, as listed in this previous post, is your make up making you ill? If not, then you risk causing infections again through the build of bacteria that gets into mascara and eyeliners. Also wash your make up brushes regularly so that all dirt and oil is not put from the brush into your sensitive eye area. Use warm soapy water for regular washes of your brushes.

Put in contact lenses before you use your cosmetic makeup as this means that you will be able to see clearly what you are doing plus your won’t get excess make up underneath your lenses. If you follow this cosmetic makeup up guide for your eyes, then not only will you eyes look good but they will be healthy too.
